i Engage and Persist/Solve Problems To engage and persist means to use mistakes as learning opportunities. To solve problems is to try alternative solutions. 1.What stumbling blocks did you come upon as you worked, and what did you do to solve those problems?   The stumbling blocks I came upon were trying to get contrasting colors. i Envision/I Create Original Art To envision and create original art means that you think creatively. You develop original ideas. In your mind or on paper, you imagine or plan the next steps of your artwork. You think up lots of different ideas. 3.Give examples of at least 3 alternate ideas that you considered before you started the finished artwork?   Other ideas I had for this artwork were flower petals on the forehead, exaggerated big lips, and a crown around the head. 4.Describe the ideas of your own that you used in your work to make it original? (Remember: It usually takes 4 aspects of the work to reach originality.)   My ideas for my artwork that make it original were flames coming off the top of the head, the long exaggerated nose, and florishes coming off the eyes.

i Reflect To reflect means to analyze artwork and the process. To reflect means to think and talk with others about your artwork and honestly assess your work and process. To reflect means learning to talk about the work of others, share ideas and knowledge, and give positive critique. 1.As you were creating your artwork what was working well?  As I was creating my artwork the shading was working well because I used a 4B pencil that allowed me to get really dark shading in the background, and I was able to smudge the pencil to capture the effects that the original artist had created in their drawing. 2.As you were working, what needed to be revised or changed?   As I was creating my artwork the highlights needed to be revised because when I used a paper towel to make smudging effects the highlights got filled in.  So, I went back and erased out the highlights to make them show up more.
