Color Symbolism



I Express/Communicate Through My Work
To express yourself and communicate through your artwork means that you represent ideas, emotions, experiences, interests, important issues, and/or meaning in the work that the viewer can interpret.

1.Exactly what did you communicate - an idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest - in your artwork?   I represented the idea of emotions in my artwork.   My artwork communicates (expresses) that I feel different at different times as I go through my day.

2.What images did you use to communicate your idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest in your artwork?  I used the image of color because they are symbolic of my emotions.

3.What art materials did you use to communicate your idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest in your artwork?  I used acrylic paint to create the work because it allows me mix the exact that represent how I feel.

4.What technique (or process) did you use to communicate your idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest in your artwork?  I chose to work on my blening technique (or process) because it makes the visual effect that at no one time are my emotions cut and dry. They are ever changing.

5. Give further details on what you are wanting to express about yourself and communicate to your audience. These aspects of my artwork work together to represent that the morning is my most motiving time, the afternoon is a time of peace as I usually have finished my work for the day, and the evening is all about settling down and being quiet as I am getting ready to go to bed.

i Reflect To reflect means to analyze artwork and the process. To reflect means to think and talk with others about your artwork and honestly assess your work and process. To reflect means learning to talk about the work of others, share ideas and knowledge, and give positive critique. 1.As you were creating your artwork what was working well?  As I was creating my artwork the shading was working well because I used a 4B pencil that allowed me to get really dark shading in the background, and I was able to smudge the pencil to capture the effects that the original artist had created in their drawing. 2.As you were working, what needed to be revised or changed?   As I was creating my artwork the highlights needed to be revised because when I used a paper towel to make smudging effects the highlights got filled in.  So, I went back and erased out the highlights to make them show up more.
