The Dot

I Express/Communicate Through My Work To express yourself and communicate through your artwork means that you represent ideas, emotions, experiences, interests, important issues, and/or meaning in the work that the viewer can interpret.

1.Exactly what did you communicate - an idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest - in your artwork?   I represented the idea of experimenting with the wet on wet technique in my artwork. My artwork communicates (expresses) that…when you paint a wet color next to another one they run together and create a new color.

2.What images did you use to communicate your idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest in your artwork?  I used the image of a circle because I thought it would look better to have the colors moving outward in a circular motion.

3.What art materials did you use to communicate your idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest in your artwork?  I used watercolor to create the work because I wanted to experiment with colors to see what they would look like when they intentionally ran together.

4.What technique (or process) did you use to communicate your idea, emotion, experience, important issue or personal interest in your artwork?  I chose to work on my wet on wet technique (or process) because a lot of times I battle with watercolor to control. This time I let the watercolor spread at will.

5. Give further details on what you are wanting to express about yourself and communicate to your audience. These aspects of my artwork work together to represent that I am trying a new technique with watercolor and want to learn more about how watercolor can work in my artwork.
